Are you a person who had your life all planned out? Who your Prince Charming would be, what castle you would live in, and how many perfect children you would have? Well, you're not alone! How many of s do live in a dream world of fantasy and don't take the time to live in the real world?
If you're living the Cinderella Fantasy, you are probably upset and depressed about your daily life and circumstances. Are you saying "Oh, my husband doesn't pay enough attention to me, nobody appreciates me, nobody will listen to what I think, and I want them to do things the way I want it done". You know, so many women live sad and unfulfilled lives because their focus is in self-fulfillment through the behavior of others. If people in their lives upset things, "Cinderella" is totally devastated and unable to function. When this happens, she focuses all the blame on other people like: "Oh, I had a bad childhood, or I am unhappy in my job, or my husband doesn't appreciate me or I don't like the things that go on at church". But the real problems lie in our own distorted view of life because we don't know how to live in the "real" world. It's so much easier to put the blame on everyone else because face it, "I'm Cinderella" and it couldn't possibly be me. Cinderella needs to quit blaming the "Wicked Step-mother" and face the fact that only she can find happiness for herself!
Cinderella needs to quit living in fantasyland and live in the moment. She needs to quit bringing up the past by saying "If I only did this, or I didn't do that, I would be happy". NOT Wake-up Cinderella,YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE PAST! But you can live in today and create a better past for the future.
One way to start is to appreciate the good things in your life today, and realize that everyone in your family or life is an individual with different habits and needs. Instead of being critical, learn to like their unique personality. If your husband isn't giving you the attention you want, quit focusing on your needs and focus on acknowledging the good in him. If you quit focusing on "me" all the time and focus on the needs of those around you, they will see you differently and you will start to grow an inner happiness for yourself. You've heard the expression "give until it hurts"? Well, I say "give until your heart is full of joy"!
One of the reasons I am writing on this topic is I have been a "Cinderella" for way too long and with the study of God's word I've realized that all the sadness and frustration of my past was because I didn't see things for what they really were, I lived in a fantasy world of expectations. Finding my way out of this thinking has helped me put the past completely behind me and to be happy in the present. I choose to stop chasing the "fantasy" and enjoy my life today and the people in it for who they are. No more trying to change people, no more judging other's lives. I choose to put my faith in God, living and loving everyone I come in contact with and I MEAN EVERYONE! God puts opportunities in our lives and it is up to us to take them or let them pass by. I choose to embrace every opportunity to share God's love and commitment to us.
Well, enough on that subject, I hope this article helps you examine yourself and your way of thinking. I am using every opportunity to learn and grow as a better person as I hope you will join me on this journey. Don't waste another day, live and be happy in the small things not fantasies. Be thankful for everything and remember to treat others the way you want to be treated. There will never be any regrets in that!
This blog is specifically written with women in mind. I am using my christian faith to go on a journey to find the answers women are looking for in everyday life. We will search the scriptures to get answers to many of life's problems. Please go on this journey with me.

God's Plan, Not Ours
As I share my writings, I want you to realize that I am writing to myself! My goal is to transform myself with the help of my Heavenly Father into a more pleasing person to Him. As I go through my transformation, I want to share it with you. Maybe something I write will help you in your own life. Let's transform together!
So many times christians go to church and say . . ."so and so did this and so and so didn't do that and can you believe that person was wearing that?" You know, if we're going to get any spiritual growth in our own lives, we are going to have to come to the realization that God ministers to each and every one of us differently. Now don't get me wrong, if there is false teaching or discipline problems, there are elders to deal with that, but so many times we are so caught up in ourselves as christians that we think we have "divine power" to cast all of our judgments and beliefs upon other christians around us whether it is scriptural or not. That is pure "pride" and we all know the scripture about pride. Proverbs 16:18-20 says. . .Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he. NKJV
God has individual plans for those who seek His will, we need to quit focusing on the flaws of others because God uses weakness to build strength for His kingdom and if someone appears weak to you, how do you know that it is not the purpose of God to help teach that person to grow from within themselves? Now I know the scriptures say that God hates spiritual weakness, but he can grow a person in the Lord from a weak position to learn to be strong (I am one of those people). I have been in the church all my life and even as a child, I could never understand how someone is able to serve the Lord without fear as long as so many others were putting judgment on them. Why do so many christians just watch and wait for someone else to make a mistake? Well, I think I can tell you from personal experience. It is because if we are focused on someone else's faults, then we don't have to deal with our own sins. If we take the focus off of God and our own personal growth, then we get nowhere, which is exactly where satan wants us to be.
Think about this, if you're focused on every one else, you'll never have the ability to have peace in your own life, there will always be drama, and if there is constant drama then we will never have the time to do the "will of God".
Another thing, your personal ministry to others will not grow! We are commanded to love and spread the good news. If we waste all of our energy on criticism, then what is the point of even being a christian?
You know, the bible speaks of harsh judgments on us for judging others, if the world sees us in our "judging state" they will never want to be a part of God's kingdom. We are His representatives, so watch yourselves, judge yourself as I will and hopefully in that we will find peace, contentment, love and joy in our lives. Christian means "little Christ" so do the word justice or don't do it at all.
We all have the choice to change our bad habits and move forward. Pray and ask for forgiveness and move forward to a new day.
Life is there to live it fully, it is up to us how we choose to do that. Live it with love and compassion and with that comes peace and fulfillment. Grow yourself through Jesus! Matthew 7:1,2 says . . . judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
Let's get over this judging, let's show love and compassion and help others overcome some of the obstacles in their lives by being there for them not their judge. Love and you will draw people closer to you and that will be your opportunity to share Jesus with them.
Just a reminder: Main Street Church of Christ, McConnelsville is having revival this week at 7:00pm with refreshments following, hope to see you there. Look for me, I'll be the one smiling!

Facing The Scales
I woke up this morning with an unusual urge to face the scales. I used to get on them every morning with ease, but when I stop, I'm in denial. As I wrote before, I am an emotional eater and with that struggle, wouldn't you know, my life has been in an emotional roller coaster for the past 2 months. And with all the emotional trials, of course, I've put weight back on.
I spend quite a bit of time in prayer each day and because of that, I have seen (blessings) happen in my life and one of them was losing all my added weight from the break-up of my marriage. I have learned that by tithing (giving the first portion of my income to God) that even if there is not enough money in my checkbook to live on the rest of the month, God always blesses me in the most unusual way and I always have what I need when I need it. I have also learned that I can't fix everything in my life and that I can live in peace if I am willing to let it go and allow God to have complete control of the situation. I've learned that I don't have to be perfect to be loved by God, He loves me just the way I am and that He is a loving God and wants a relationship with me. He's not looking at us angrily waiting for us to mess up so we can go to hell. He's our biggest cheering fan rooting us on to fight the fight and finish the race a wiinner. I have also learned that God doesn't expect us to do big wonderful things, He's happy with the small things we can do to help and love others, He is happy when we respect Him by being around the Lord's Table to say. . ."Thsi bread represents your sweet body and the fruit of the vine represents the blood you shed as a peerfect sacrafice for my sins." The biggest thing I think I have learned is how to properly talk to God through prayer. I talk to him like you would talk to your best friend, discussing everything, making plans, asking advice, and praising Him for His Awesomeness and can I say, without you thinking I'm a nut, I can feel His presence. As I wrote before, I've always been a wife and mother, and even though my son is currently with me, it's been a big adjustment being alone. But I have never felt alone. God's presence is always with me.
Back to the scales, as I scould myself for putting back on some weight I say . . . "God has taught you so much about yourself and brought you so far, why haven't you allowed Him to have control of this area in your life? And you know, it's a lack of faith, I'm being selfish expecting that I can take care of that area myself, but for some reason, I still am hanging on to my self-protection of rejection by my weight. I'm disappointed in myself because I really do want to be freed in this area. There are so many things I want to do for His kingdom and I don't need any baggage, that way I have both hands free to do His "destiny for me". I've been praying about this area for a while now and yesterday, I spent some very long and deep prayer asking God to help me let go of this area of my life and I don't know if I will be successful letting go, but I will keep praying until I do. Something happened this morning that is promising. When I usually wake up in the morning I say . . ."Good morning Lord, what are we going to do today". And this morning I woke up with (get on the scales) on my mind, today we are going to start our new journey of faith. And of course, I could not believe that I was actually happy about it. So now, God and I are going to be in bootcamp for a while, he's going to run me through the obstacle course of faith, He's going to show me that I have the ability to make it over the hurdles, through the mazes, through the waters of life and when I cross the "finish line" with His help, I'll be ready to move on to my assignment, I'll have my diploma that says I have succeeded and am ready for my new assignment from Him. You know, life is difficult and we all have many obstacles that we have to face daily. The only way to really work for the "finish line" is to work on one area at a time and don't take it on yourself, things go so much better if you have a partner who cannot fail, and it goes better when your (partner or captain) is cheering you on, knowing that He loves you unconditionally and He's always on your side.
What are the things in your life that are dragging you down, are you tired of dealing with them? I am! Let's get started on freeing up our lives one thing at a time. If you are willing to do that, you will gradually feel successful and have peace in your heart (maybe not in your life) but your heart.
I know if I can truly have faith that God will help me deal with this area, I'll be free, and freedom is a great place to be.
Matthew 9:20-22 says.. .And suddenly a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment I shall be made well." But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer daughter, your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.
You know re-reading this scripture enlightened me more about the story, it wasn't the touch, it was the faith of the touch. We don't have Jesus here physically to make us well, but we don't need that anyway, the faith is what we need. He will heal us through our faith in believing He will heal us.
We have exactly the same opportunities for healing as they did back then with a couple exceptions, she didn't have salvations yet because Jesus had not gone to the cross yet, we have the opportunity of salvation now along with the word, and prayer so we have it made!
Faith can make us whole! It was her faith that healed her and my faith can also heal me. He is patient with us because He knows us, He understands our struggles and wants to help us with them. Examine faith in your own lives and reach out and touch the hem (HIM) and He will heal you and help you be on your way, living your most authentic life!

If you would like help in studying, understanding or have any questions, feel free to contact me.
I'm sorry I'm writing sooner than said, I had to come to the library as I don't have access at home so I may not be on here as much. This morning I told you that all of the conversions in Acts required baptism. Here are some of the scriptures you can use to verify this truth:
Acts 2, Acts 8:26-40 Philip and the eunuch; Acts 9:1-19 Saul's conversion who became (Paul); Acts 16:11-15 Lydia's conversion; Acts 16:25-34 Jailor's conversion; Acts 17:22-34 Paul's preaching in the synagogue proclaiming salvation; Acts 18:7,8 Titus and Justus converted; Acts 19:1-7 baptism essential
You still have the right to your own opinions about salvation, but my conscious says to make you aware of these scriptures, and I am sure after you check it out for yourself, you will no doubtedly have any doubts. I hope this is helpful to you in your studies.
I want to share a very cool scripture with you as I was reading it today: Hebrews 13:1,2. . .Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
How cool is that! Don't prejudge people standing by the road, just go ahead and assume they are angels! If they are not, you will be rewarded for showing love!

Are You A Copy Or An Original?
Think about this: Do you follow people rather than God? If we follow people, we tend to be a carbon copy of someone else which usually takes us down the wrong path. It's not always easy when we don't go with the flow, following the guidance of others, but if we are willing to stand up for what we really believe in then we can be who we "originally" are.
God wants "originals" he wants people who are not afraid to speak on His behalf. I've always been "different". Even when I was in school I was different and sometimes suffered the consequences of it, but in the end I am pleased with who I am for not being afraid of being a "Christian". Don't get me wrong, I haven't always acted like a christian, I've made many mistakes in my life, but I have always remained an "original". I am like no one else and I hope that will never change! If we compare ourselves to others, we will constantly be insecure and confused. That's enough of a reason why we shouldn't compare ourselves to others.
God creates us all different with the hopes of us using our uniqueness to serve Him. Being an "original" is a good thing and people in the long run will admire you for it.
You know, I never really had the desire to write in my life, I would rather do art, crafts or gardening, but in the last two years my first interest has changed to writing. I have journals everywhere in my house. I know my skills aren't that good as it's been a long time since I was in school, and I was worried about what people would think of me, but I am wholeheartedly convicted to do so. I am thankful to a friend who introduced me to this outlet.
If I am able to touch one person's heart in my writings, then it's completely been worth it! This also shows my love to God that I am not afraid to proclaim Him and try to help others seek Him. I know I have personally faced several skeletons in my closet by different articles I felt compelled to write, but it has made me face the changes in my own life that have been neglected. Being an "original" is where I must be! I hope you decide to be "original in Christ" and use your own personal characteristics to help improve your own life along with the lives of others.
You know I buy and sell art and antiques and do you know what is the most valuable? Well I can guarantee you it is not the copies, reproductions or prints, it's always the originals. So that's why God needs us to be "originals" so we will be more valuable to Him and His purpose.
You Are An Original, Now Just Prove It!

God's Plan of Salvation
We have to HEAR the word - Romans 10:17
We have to BELIEVE - John 3:16, 8:24
We have to REPENT (be sorry) - Acts 17:30
CONFESS CHRIST AS LORD - Matthew 10:32
Be BAPTIZED - Acts 2:38, 22:16 (Don't be deceived that this step isn't important, if you rear the complete book of Acts you will see for yourself, without question, that every conversion required baptism, so PLEASE don't leave out this most important step!)
Be FAITHFUL - James 1:12, Revelations 2:10
Don't think that if you're not perfect that you might as well give up, no one can ever be perfect!!!!! Jesus died to become all of our sin so that if we would accept Him it would be like we have not sinned at all. Yes we are going to make many mistakes in our lives, but as long as you keep trudging along, loving people, staying in close communication with God through prayer, fellowshipping with other believers around the Lord's Table partaking in communion in remembrance of Christ's sacrafice for us and spreading the good news to others, you will have all the security you need to handle anything life has to offer you. Just don't give up! There will be obsticles but you can handle. God won't allow anymore than you can handle if you are a christian!!!!! Remember to pray to God for forgiveness of new sins and have faith that you can make it to your great reward. Tomorrow, I will divide the bible for you so you will understand how to study it properly and it won't be confusing to you at alI.
I would like to welcome you to the Churches of Christ/Christian Churches in your area.
