What Is The Cross To You?

I Cor 1:18 . . . For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

During this Easter season have you thought about what the cross means to you personally?  Does it have any meaning whatsoever in your life?  What is so important about the cross and the resurrection?

Did you realize that if Jesus had not come to earth, lived, died and resurrected no one would have the opportunity to have eternal life?

Romans 6:1-10 says . . .1  What shall we say then?  "Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?  2  Certainly not!  How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?  3  Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?  4  Therefore we were "buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  5  For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.  6  knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.  7  For he who has died has been freed from sin.  8  Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him.  9  knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more, Death no longer has dominion over Him.  10  For the death that He died, He died to sin once and for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.  NKJV

I think Romans 6 sums it up.  Christ became our sin so through obedience we can become dead to sin by His wonderful sacrafice.  We now, because of the cross have free will to accept the message of the cross or consider it foolishness, the choice is up to each of us as individuals.  I pray that you accept the message of the cross and honor it with our life.  Share it with others.

God's Plan can be our plan of receiving the inheritance set aside for us through Jesus Christ:

     Hear - Romans 10:17
     Believe - John 3:16, 8:24
Repent of our sins (turn away from) - Acts 17:30
     Confess Christ - Matthew 10:32
Be Baptized for the forgiveness of sins -Acts 2:38, 22:16
     Be Faithful - James 1:12, Revelations 2:10

If you can take about an hour out of your schedule and read chapters 12-20 of John for the historical event leading up to the possibility of everlasting life.  Remember this is the year 2011 which is a fact of 2,011 years after the death of Christ.  If that isn't historical proof of the facts, then I don't know what is.  Consider all the facts and open up happier opportunities in your life.  Consider the cross and the suffering that Christ made on our behalf.  He wants YOU to become part of His Kingdom!  Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity.
